Overwatch's Taking Reign Event Pass Is 1,000 Coins Until December 7, With a $39.99 Mythic Roadhog Beside It

Overwatch's mid-season update on November 3 started Taking Reign, the event that closes the year-long Reign of Talon story. Blizzard's patch notes give it five weeks, from November 3 to December 7. It has a free reward track, and a premium Event Pass that our Overwatch shop page lists at 1,000 Coins.

What the pass gives

You earn the rewards by playing matches and finishing the event's challenges. Reports put the track at 24 tiers. The free side includes an Epic recolour of a Sigma skin. Buying the pass adds the premium side, and Blizzard names two items on it: a Legendary Doomfist skin and a Legendary weapon skin for Vendetta. Coverage of the update calls the Doomfist skin Resurgence.

The patch notes also say that once you have bought a premium Event Pass, you can finish it at any time, even after the event is over. So paying late in the event does not mean losing the rewards you have not reached yet. The event itself still ends on December 7.

A Mythic Roadhog the same day

A second new listing appeared on November 3: a Complete Mythic Skin Bundle for Roadhog, sold for real money at $39.99. Our page shows that it also comes with 20 Battle Pass tiers. Reports name the skin Necrotic Knight and say it has four levels of customisation, covering his armour, helmet, colours and effects. Blizzard's patch notes do not mention it, and our page gives no end date for it.

Both listings first appeared in our record of the shop on November 3. That record does not reach back through every past season, so an item page can show no earlier visit for something that was sold before.
